As soon as this became apparent, I tried to cancel my purchases and get refunded (there is a 30-day window for this). I'm sorry to say that I succumbed in a couple of cases, only to find that with the product I bought, Avast also snuck in (and charged me for) other products that I did not want. I have been assaulted by pop-up warning messages on the order of "your computer is open to attack!" - trying to scare me into buying more software. I decided to upgrade from the free version, and have regretted it ever since.
